Wednesday, August 22, 2012 would remain a traumatic day for one of Nollywood’s super star actresses when she encountered an unbelievable assault in the hands of armed soldiers in the street of Asaba, the Delta state capital.
Blank NEWS Online sources revealed that the actress (names withheld) who was engaged by a renowned Nollywood director, Ugezu U. Ugezu (DGN) to play a lead role in a film was caught up in a show of shame and utter embarrassment by the soldiers attached to Delta state Government House.
Investigation disclosed that the humble and popular actress had briefly left one of the locations with her crew members, including the film Director Ugezu J. Ugezu, foremost Director of Photography (DOP), Mr. Ngozi among other notable crew members.
She was alleged to be standing beside her Range Rover Jeep and discussing with her colleagues before moving to the next location where her next shot would be taken when the fierce looking and arm wielding soldiers accosted her and her team.
The unwinding drama became tense when she and her crew members were ordered to sit on the wet road-side while the rains drizzled.
To her utmost surprise, all her colleagues were already seated on the bare floor but her attempt to question the military men’s action turned out to have worsened the situation as she was asked to swim in the muddy waters.
All efforts by the leading Nollywood actress to calm the soldiers’ anger for questioning their action proved abortive, but further appeals by the Ugezu calmed the nerves of the soldiers who later ordered her to sit on the bare floor with others which she obeyed.
After having satisfied the soldier’s intent to “Obey Before Complain”, they were let off the hook having been thoroughly searched.
Blank NEWS Online findings proved that the traumatised Nollywood actress, whose roles are still being shot in Asaba was later spotted at some of the locations, wearing a grim face which could spoil her leading role in the movie, touted to be a must watch.
All efforts to reach the movie director, Ugezu and the popular Nollywood actress proved abortive as none of her crew members and manager would want to speak further about their sad experience in the hands of the military men.
A security operative, however confirmed that the military men who were drafted to the state capital may have mistaken the Nollywood actress and her crew for kidnappers, as a result of the sundry kidnap incidents in Asaba and its environs.
Blank NEWS Online would reveal the names of the assaulted Nollywood actress and her picture in the next edition.
