He emphasized that the exercise was meant for those who did not register in the 2011 exercise and those who have attained the age of 18 years.

Chief Obi who is the state chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), thanked the people for their interest in the electoral process stating that the registration exercise was the first step towards participating actively in the 2015 general elections.

“This registration exercise is very important that is why our Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan declared a public holiday, it is very important that we thank the Governor for mobilizing the people of Delta State for the exercise,” he said while addressing a cross section of those who registered.

One of those who registered at the centre, Mr Sunday Nwose said the exercise was a success and thanked Chief Obi for providing vehicles to facilitate movement of people to the registration centre.
