Delta Speaker Assures Votes For PDP, Receives Party’s Flag

The people of Oshimili South local government area, Delta State, have resolved to vote all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the February 2015 general elections, and called on Deltans and Nigeria in general to vote PDP for economic and political freedom.

The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Onwusanya, disclosed this shortly after he was presented with the party’s flag and confirmed as the PDP candidate for Oshimili South Constituency, Delta State, during the flag off of PDP gubernatorial campaign at Oghara, Ethiope West local government area, Tuesday.

He explained that President Goodluck Jonathan and Dr Ifeanyi Okowa will get 100 percent of their votes as President and Governor respectively, disclosing that the people had been mobilized and are set for the elections.

According to him, the PDP has demonstrated capability in the socio-economic and political development of the state and Nigeria in general, stressing that the people of Oshimili South had benefited, especially through his various empowerment programmes.

Hon Onwusanya said that his initial mandate as a legislator was well utilized which consequently prompted the renewed mandate by the people and assured that the second tenure will witness further unprecedented development and empowerment.

He called on Deltans to reach out to their neighbours and convince them to vote PDP in all the elections as the party will do more for Nigerians.

Among those who spoke at the occasion was the governorship candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama, the state party chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor and South South PDP Chairman, Dr Cairo Ojougbo.
