Breaking News: Police Nab 156 Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) Members In Delta

The Delta state Police Command has apprehended 156 persons suspected to be members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in ASABA, Delta state capital.

A statement issued by the Delta state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Celestina Kalu and made available to Blank NEWS Online on Monday, September 07, 2015 reads:

“Sequel to information received that the group will be holding a meeting at Oneh Primary school, Asaba on 6/9/15 at about 1400hrs. The command mobilized its patrol teams to the venue at about 1445hrs same sate. One hundred and fifty six (156) persons were arrested.

“Immediately after the arrest, a team of detectives headed by the AC CIID, conducted a screening exercise, eleven (11) of them suspected to be the ring leaders are still undergoing further investigation and possible prosecution, while the rest including women and children were warned and released.

“The command is committed to providing a peaceful atmosphere for the enhancement of democracy and therefore, warned that the provisions of the law will be enforced to the letters and no one , no matter how highly placed will be treated as sacred cow.

“The public are advised to be aware that fraternizing with the group of outlawed indigenous people of Biafra is unlawful; anyone arrested will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”

Acoording to the Police statement, Items recovered from them include:
i. Biafra freedom song CD plate
ii. Group photograph showing members of the group
iii. United Nation’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People
iv. Document containing Biafra National Anthem
v. Documents containing World latest vote on Biafra
vi. One Sony camera
vii. A book titled Agueleri: The pivot of the Bani-Israil in Nigeria.
