DELTA: Ukah Pledges Effective Collaboration With Media Practitioners

Delta state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah has assured members of the Asaba Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta state Council of continued support and co-operation in achieving the policy objectives of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.

Ukah, who said the media plays a vital role in building public confidence on the activities of government, urged media practitioners to sustain their objectivity and regular cross checking of facts before publications are made.

The Commissioner further promised to partner with registered media practitioners in the state for the greater good of all through effective and fruitful collaboration.

He lauded the efforts of the media, especially the Asaba Correspondents Chapel for their understanding of the workings of government, adding that the Okowa administration is set to deliver on its S.M.A.R.T Agenda initiative which has already kick-started.

The Chairman of the Asaba Correspondents Chapel, Mr. Paul Osuyi assured the Commissioner of objective reporting of government activities by members of the Chapel.

The Commission was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Aguoye, the Director of Information, Mr. Paul Osahor among others.
