The ministerial nominee of Niger state, Alhaji Musa Ibeto has had his nomination withdrawn by President Muhammadu Buhari. Ibeto has been replaced with Abubakar Bwari Bawa. The presidency is yet to give any reasons for the witwithdrawal.

Meanshile, Senate President, Bukola Saraki has confirmed the withdrawal of Ibeto as he read out a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the Senate of Ibeto’s withdrawal.

Buhari’s letter read: “I write to withdraw the nomination of Hon. Ahmad Musa Ibeto earlier submitted for confirmation as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Pls accept the assurance of my esteemed consideration.”

Ibeto’s withdrawal was predicted by political analysts after Bawa’s name was submitted in the second batch of the president’s list, because he was also from Niger state.

Ibeto, 56, who is the immediate past deputy governor of Niger state, was listed in the first batch of ministerial nominee sent to the Nigerian senate by the president.

Information from the National Assembly reveals that the former deputy governor was supposed to be screened at the senate today by members of the upper chamber.

Recall that Ibeto defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) few days before the general elections earlier this year. Before then, he was having a running battle with his boss, former governor, Babangida Aliyu.

Bawa popularly called ABB by his admirers was born on 4th November 1963 in Tafa local government area of Niger state. He was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Suleja/Gurara/Tafa Federal Constituency in 1998 and subsequently became Chief Whip of the House where he served from 1999-2007.
