The Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Delta state Governor on Orientation and Social Development (SSA-OSD), Barr. Eugene Azuka Uzum has assured Deltans of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s determination to foster unity, peace, grassrooot empowerment and even development across the state.

Uzum stated this on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 when the executive committee members of Force Movement, Hash Harris International and other allied groups paid a courtesy vvisit to his office in Asaba.

The Orientation guru who corrected the inclination of a section of Deltans on falsehood urged the people to appraise the Governor Okowa’s administration based on effective performances and concern for the good people of Delta state.

While reeling out the various people oriented programmes of the state government, he assured that his office is determined to issue adequate enlightenment and orientation to Deltans on the workings of government, adding that the policy initiatives of the present administration, especially in the area of entrepreneurial opportunities for youths, among other empowerment programmes is aimed at bringing prosperity to all, irrespective of the multifarious ethnic nationalities in the state.

Corroborating Barr. Uzum’s position, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu disclosed that the S.M.A.R.T agenda of the present administration is hinged on fastracking the spate of development in the state, asuring that government has put resources in place to ensure compliance in projects execution.

He enjoined Deltans to renege from engaging themselves with series of non-issue based criticisms but to join hands wih the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration in its determination to build a progressive Delta State.

Earlier in his speech, leader of the delegation, Mr. Kingsley Odiaka Iweka (MNIM) thanked Barr. Uzum for initiating series of sensitization and enlightenment programmes to help build the peoples confidence in governance, all geared towards ensuring growth and development of the state.

Iweka who hailed Uzum for creating an effective feedback mechanism to bridge existing communication gaps between the people and government, however appealed to the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Delta state Governor on Orientation and Social Development (SSA-OSD) to sustain the sensitization programme and ensure its spread throughout the state.

Also, Prince Godwin Ogboren of the Hash Harris International expressed satisfaction with the activities of the office of the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Delta state Governor on Orientation and Social Development (SSA-OSD), saying that the recent One-Day Symposium/Seminar tagged “Policies of Prosperity in Support of the S.M.A.R.T Agenda” held at Government House Annex, Warri was a clear indication of good tidings for Deltans.

The occasion was further glossed with a brief presentation by Mr. Alex Chukwuka Uboh, President of Coalition of Ndokwa Peace Ambassadors (CONPA) on providing total support for the success of the programmes and objectives of the office of the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) on Orientation and Social Development (SSA-OSD).

Highpoint of the visit, attended by Mr. Sese Omu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relations and Peace Building as well as his counterpart on Youth Development, was the presentation of an award of honour to Barr. Eugene Uzum for his forthrightness and selfless services to the people and government of Delta state.
