The Chief Press Secretary to the Delta state Governor, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu has expressed suprise over the pervading tension that enveloped the state, shortly before the Tribunal judges confirmed Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as the genuinely elected governor of the state.

Speaking on a radio program at the studios of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba FM 97.9, monitored by Blank NEWS Online, Aniagwu wondered why a political party that has no visible presence in most of the local government and wards in the state would expect to win a free and fair election.

He said the numerical difference in the number of votes ganered by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in comparism to that of the Al Progresive Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) was a clear demonstration of the love Deltans have for Okowa.
The Chief Press Secretary further advised the Petitioners to heed the call made by Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, calling on the APC and LP candidates to join hands with him to build a better Delta state.

He however advised them against the idea of an appeal, although stating it was their fundamental right to do so.

Aniagwu said the S.M.A.R.T agenda as introduced by Governor Okowa was a clear testimony of the vision and direction the state is heading.
